Introduction: What is a Mass Flow Controller?

Mass flow controllers work by measuring the mass of gas flowing through them and then controlling the gas flow rate so that it remains constant. The most common type of mass flow controller uses a Coriolis force sensor to measure the mass of gas flowing through the device.

The Coriolis force sensor consists of two tubes that are twisted together. As gas flows through the tubes, the twisting motion of the tubes causes a small force to be exerted on the gas molecules.

This force is proportional to the mass of gas molecules flowing through the device. The mass flow controller  available at https://www.prestige-technology.com/13-cryogenic uses this information to control the gas flow rate so that it remains constant.

Mass flow controllers are available in a variety of different sizes and shapes, depending on their intended application. Some mass flow controllers are very small, while others are much larger. The size and shape of a mass flow controller will also determine its accuracy and precision.

Mass flow controllers are used in a variety of different applications, including:

• Controlling the flow of gases in chemical reactors

• Measuring the flow of gases in pipelines

• Regulating the flow of gases in furnaces

• Controlling the pressure of gases in compressed gas cylinders
