What is the PodChatLive livestream all about?

PodChatLive is a regular monthly online livestream discussion for podiatrists and other health professionals interested in the topic that is streamed live on Facebook and it's also available later as a replay on YouTube, the website and also the usual podcast sources such as iTunes and Spotify for the sound edition. In each show both hosts have on a number of guests and examine many topics of importance to podiatrists and the lower limb. Through the livestream, questions can be asked by those viewing during real time and the hosts and guests respond to them. The show has accumulated a wide following and is very well-known in the podiatry profession.

The hosts of PodChatLive are Ian Griffiths and Craig Payne, both podiatrists. The show began one evening when Craig was visiting Ian and they went live from Ian’s lounge to have a conversation live on Facebook about whatever came up. It was later on named PodChatLive because they realised that it proved helpful and they were getting a following. Craig is located in Australia and he runs the discussion forum, Podiatry Arena and admins the online courses for the Clinical Biomechanics Bootcamp. Ian is a sports podiatrist in London. PodChatLive did start out as a weekly livestream, but as it is not monetized, it was way too much work for the hosts to keep it up, so after the initial year it was transformed to a monthly livestream.

Occasionally PodChatLive was about clinical topics such as injuries, other times it focusses on business issues like social media advertising. In other episodes the guest is someone well-known inside the podiatry profession and they talk about a wide range of issues with that guest. Some episodes are much more popular than others and at times the hosts get amazed just how popular some shows are as they weren't actually expecting that episode to be as popular as what it turned out being.
